My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Deuce, a toffee chi with whipped cream on top, is technically a super senior. We can vouch for super, but the senior part is a little hard to believe. A spry guy with pep and purpose, he likes to explore, make friends and go about his business without a lot of fuss. Doesn’t mind the stairs, digs a jaunt in the wider world. We think he likes dad jokes, but don’t hold that against him. Adopt him for true love and dignified snuggling.

Here's some notes from his foster:

Meet Deuce, a sweet 15-year-old gentleman with a skip in his step and a heart full of love. This distinguished gentlemen is very quiet and incredibly trusting, often described as "Velcro" with his people, always ready to lean against your lap or nudge you with his nose for a head scratch or belly rub. Deuce also loves a good car ride and will sit patiently in the back seat, happy to be along for any adventure.

He has also improved staying home alone - we leave a quiet TV on for him (think HGTV or Food Network). We go for a short morning walk at breakfast and lunch (~15 mins each) and a longer walk in the evenings (30-40 mins).

When it comes to walks, Deuce is a great companion on the leash but does have some specific preferences. He is reactive to other dogs and sometimes people (especially runners), and is much more comfortable on quieter streets or trails where he can enjoy his walk without interruptions.

Deuce is a true gentleman when it comes to food—he patiently waits for his meals and never begs at the table. He is also perfectly potty-trained and will politely let you know when it's time to go outside. His also great on the stairs, never needing a boost to climb up or down.

Deuce is looking for a quiet home, ideally with people who are home most of the day and have a yard where he can relax and enjoy the sunshine. If you're looking for a devoted, loving companion who will be your shadow and your best friend, Deuce is the boy for you.
