File (Fee-LAY) which means buddy or friend in Greek is very shy and would probably run away from a child. He does not like any loud noises. He does warm up if you are quiet and still. I have had cats all my life and File is the most gentle cat I have ever known. He is also polite. He tries to stay out of your way. If you don't want him in a room he will be timid going in when you open the door. He gets into territorial disputes with my other cat but it doesn't turn violent. Fur flies and they go their separate ways. File would do best solo if you want a lap cat to sit with you while you read a book, he likes to cuddle. With other animals he hides more, they stress him.
File has gone outside of the litter box a few times. All of them were in reaction to stress events. Give File a try. He is so kind.
