Harriet is a petite American Pit Bull Terrier mix with a heart as big as her zoomies. Since arriving at the shelter, Harriet has responded to attention from humans with a “happy tail” that wags so fast we joke that she might lift off! . She walks beautifully on leash and absolutely lives for zoomies in the yard. Harriet is eager to please, smart, and already knows how to sit for treats (and yes, she expects a round of applause afterward!). Harriet will also convince you she is a lap dog! Some might say Harriet is “a little much” but honestly, many of the best personalities are! If you love dogs with big energy and even bigger hearts, Harriet might be your perfect match. This animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter. For information about adopting, please visit: http://www.chicoanimalshelter.org/adoptable-animals.html

More about this shelter
The Chico Animal Shelter is owned by the City of Chico and operated by the City of Chico Police Department. We take in all stray dogs found in the incorporated area of the City of Chico. People wishing to surrender their dogs are asked to call the shelter to make an appointment. The shelter does not impound healthy stray cats, including feral or trapped cats. Please see our website for more information about stray cats, and where to surrender owned cats. Although we are an open admission shelter, we follow the state policy that no adoptable animal should be euthanized. To that end, we work with rescue groups, humane societies and other organizations to adopt out animals.
