Meet Starcraft! This spirited young dog came to us from a less-than-ideal situation and is looking for her second chance. She adores leisurely meandering walks and delights in exploring the world around her at her own pace. She has a profound affection for treats and revels in the warmth of gentle pets, eagerly showing her playful and affectionate nature to those who've earned her trust. Starcraft does not seem to have training and will need your help to learn how to grow up to be a great dog, ready to embrace life with love, confidence, and enthusiasm. Because of this, she is enrolled in our Best Paw Forward program, which means that she will be required to take at least 1 private class with our behavior team to set her up for success. The class is included in the price of adoption. Come give this girl the second chance she deserves!

We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!
Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.
When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.
What you will need in order to adopt:
A valid photo ID with your current address.
We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.
If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.
Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.
Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
