🐾 Introducing DJ 🐾

“Oh my lanta!” …how is this lovable lady waiting for her forever home? 💛

Meet DJ — a 10-year-old Pitbull/Boxer mix who is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready to fill your home with love. She was adopted from us once before but sadly ended up back at the shelter through no fault of her own.

DJ does have a bit of “old lady” arthritis, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying gentle walks (she’s great on a leash!) and soaking up all the pets you can give. She’s crate trained, potty trained, and a total lovebug.

DJ gets along well with other dogs but she does not like cats and we believe she would do well with kids.

She’s looking for someone who will open their heart and home to a senior pup and show her the golden years she deserves. 💛

📍 Come meet DJ and see if she’s your perfect match!

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We like to meet prospective adopters and be with them when they meet a potential new pet.

2.

Meet the Pet

Meet and greets are strongly encouraged if there are other dog(s) and/or cat(s) or children in the home

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Renter's are required to provide letter from landlord approving a pet or additional pet

4.

Pay Fee

Our fees are low and do not cover much of the expenses we put into the animal prior to its becoming available for adoption.

5.

Take the Pet Home

We ask new owners to not return an animal before 9 days so its entry time can restart.

6.

Take the Pet Home

We remind the new family that it may take up to 3 months for a dog to decompress, learn the the family's routine, and feel at home.

Additional adoption info

We have the right and responsibility to the animal and the prospective new owner to refuse an adoption.

Go meet their pets

The shelter is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 AM to 7 PM, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 AM to 5 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 noon.

We do monthly adoption events at area retailers in Wabash County.

Our pets are posted on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/wcashelter, zip code 46992 and occasionally on Rescueme.org.
