My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🎉 **ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED!** 🎉
Thanks to a generous WCAS supporter and animal lover, **DJ’s $70 adoption fee is now just $25** — a $45 savings! 💛

🐾 **Meet DJ** 🐾
*“Oh my lanta!”* How is this incredible girl still waiting for her forever home?

DJ is a **10-year-old Pitbull/Boxer mix**, **spayed and up to date on vaccines**, with a heart full of love and resilience. She was adopted from us once before but sadly returned through no fault of her own.

💪 **Cancer Survivor!**
DJ recently had a **toe amputated** and is now **cancer-free**. She’s healing well and doesn’t let it slow her down! She still enjoys **gentle walks (great on a leash!)**, cozy naps, and soaking up all the affection she can get.

This sweet senior is **crate trained, potty trained**, and a total lovebug. She gets along well with other dogs, **does not like cats**, and we believe she would do well with kids.

DJ is looking for someone who will open their heart to a senior pup and show her the **happy, comfortable golden years she deserves**. 💛

📍 **Come meet DJ** and see if she’s your perfect match!

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We like to meet prospective adopters and be with them when they meet a potential new pet.

2.

Meet the Pet

Meet and greets are strongly encouraged if there are other dog(s) and/or cat(s) or children in the home

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Renter's are required to provide letter from landlord approving a pet or additional pet

4.

Pay Fee

Our fees are low and do not cover much of the expenses we put into the animal prior to its becoming available for adoption.

5.

Take the Pet Home

We ask new owners to not return an animal before 9 days so its entry time can restart.

6.

Take the Pet Home

We remind the new family that it may take up to 3 months for a dog to decompress, learn the the family's routine, and feel at home.

Additional adoption info

We have the right and responsibility to the animal and the prospective new owner to refuse an adoption.

Go meet their pets

The shelter is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 AM to 7 PM, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 AM to 5 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 noon.
