My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gus was surrendered to us after his owner lied about the dog to get us to take him. Gus is scared being here and doesn’t understand what’s going on. We don’t know his real story now or why he was given up so easily by the people who were supposed to love him. Age is recorrected to 7 years old and not 4 years old. We are learning more about him each day since we weren’t told anything correct about him or what he enjoys. It’s a lot of change for him. Gus is sweet and kind. He hunkers when you approach or go to pet him but warms up after a couple strokes. Seems to listen well when asked commands and is very quiet. He can be dog selective so a meet and greet is required. Neutered, housetrained, and up to date. Adoption fee is $150

More about this shelter

Our shelter is staffed by only a few employees so we greatly depend on volunteers to help care for our animals.
We work very closely with rescue groups to help move our dogs out of the shelter quickly. Our goal is to never have to euthanize for space. We cannot do that without rescue assistance because our adoption rates are very low.
