Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET LEONARDO
2 Years Old • 54 lbs • Boxer/Pit Mix (maybe?) • NYC Area
This handsome heartthrob was found roaming the streets of New York City and brought to the NYC municipal shelter. While there, he served as an official "greeter dog"—helping other pups feel safe and welcome during intros.
But even the best greeters need a way out. With his time running out, a loving couple stepped up to save Leonardo’s life. Now he's thriving in foster care and ready to leap into his forever home—literally.
LEONARDO’S STATS:
Age: ~2 years
Weight: ~54 lbs
Breed: Mystery mix — possibly Boxer/Pittie (he’s got bounce and charm)
Neutered: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
Paper trained: Unknown
On leash: Yes, with a little help around distractions
GOOD WITH:
Kids: Yes! Older kids preferred — he’s still learning not to jump when excited
Strangers: Absolutely! Everyone is a new friend
Dogs: Yep! Currently living with two
Cats: Unknown
WHY YOU’LL LOVE LEO:
Goofy & Charming: His foster calls him their “little jumping bean”
Happy & Social: Loves everyone he meets—dogs, people, the UPS guy, you name it
Crate King: Calm in his crate, even for longer stretches
Zoom Call Approved: Quiet and respectful for your work-from-home meetings
Smart & Eager: Takes redirection well, especially when affection or toys are involved
Minimal Shedding: Sleek coat, great for snuggles and your vacuum
Looks to Melt For: Big smile, expressive eyes, athletic build — a real head-turner
IDEAL HOME:
Leo’s dream home includes:
Active humans for playtime, walks, or hikes
A patient and loving leader to guide him as he works on mouthing and impulse control
Maybe a friendly dog sibling (he loves having buddies!)
Someone who appreciates the energy of a young dog and the joy of watching him grow
Whether you're hitting the trails, exploring the city, or just vegging out after a long day, Leonardo is ready to be your loyal shadow, best friend, and nightly foot-warmer.
