My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gotta come right out and say it: Cash is HANDSOME. And he wants to hang around you. Constantly. Be real with yourself for a minute -- you got time to be swooning all day!?

And you WILL swoon over his goofy-cute ears and his totally can’t-help-but-wanna-rub-it belly (keep on snacking, Cash!)

You want LOYAL? Cash would trot into Mordor right next to you and not even ask to see a Ring. Real talk? This is a dog who LOVES to play fetch: throw a ball and he’ll go There And Back Again until the stars grow dim... though he might take a (brief) break for a delicious Breakfast, or Second Breakfast, or Elevenses, or Luncheon--or maybe a nap with his big head nuzzled up next to you. Or maybe on top of you -- I don’t know your life. Oh, is Bluey on? That's his FAVORITE SHOW (not even joking)

He is an absolute FOOL for attention, especially if that attention comes with a snack. But he’s definitely got some diva in him. Star Of The Show. Solo Act, if you catch my drift. A fun pack walk from time to time with a trusted entourage? Sure. But he’s not fond of the “Pup-perrazzi” or strange dogs coming at you, so it’s best he is the only King of the Kongs in your Castle. No Bowsers (or Peaches) allowed.

Cash is very helpful, too. Say you’re a little busy and forget about a meal, don’t worry, Cash will remind you. And speaking of food, if you’ve got the kibble, he’s got the commands down: Sit, Stay, Heel, Down, Touch, Place. LEGEND.

Looks! Personality! “How is this dog even available,” you ask?

Okay. Cash isn’t PERFECT. We can’t all be Jeff Goldblum in JURASSIC PARK. He has a low-level arthritis that is well-managed with medication. And because he loves people SO MUCH, he gets a bit anxious when he’s alone. It’s gotten much better with training —and he’s had the best— and we’re sure he’ll do even better when he lands in a place he can truly call his own.

Cash is looking for a permanent home with a yard ideally so he can chase that ball without distraction. Plus, didn’t you need to loosen up that shoulder? Make this dog’s life, a dog’s life and give Cash the home he deserves!

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
