Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Magnet 🧲
Some cats demand attention. Magnet simply draws it in.
He came from the same large intake situation as some of our other long-term residents, arriving unsure and overwhelmed. But over time, something really special happened — Magnet found his footing. He learned he was safe. He learned people can be kind. And little by little, he stepped out of his shell.
Now? He’s the definition of chill.
Magnet gets along beautifully with other cats — truly, everyone is his friend. He’s happy to share space, nap nearby, and just exist in easy harmony. He loves to rest and observe, taking in the room like the thoughtful guy he is. But don’t mistake his calm vibe for distance — when you sit down and offer a gentle hand, he’ll absolutely lean in for love.
He’s affectionate in that quiet, steady way that feels grounding. No chaos. No drama. Just a sweet boy who has grown so much and is ready to be someone’s peaceful companion.
Magnet has already proven how resilient he is. Now he just needs someone to let him stick around forever. 🧲💛An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice. Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00
