Well Hello it's me... 🍑 Peach ! Peaches... Sweet peach.... Peachy pie..... Sweet potato peach parfait..... One friend even calls me Peach crush. I'm all that AND more. I tell you -once you meet me- you'll be crushing on me for sure. I'm a delight. I hear it's my season. 🍑 I mean really -when is it NOT peach season?!🍑🧡 They say I should tell you about myself and how I came to be miss HSWC peach blossom queen. Well I seem to have gotten myself into a real peach of a situation and not the good sweet kind. I found myself out wandering and then was brought here to this boarding school for exceptional individuals. Some of these yappers are real show offs. I'm not into all that bragging. But I'm pretty popular. I guess that why I was voted queen. 👑 I come bouncing out like - "hey what's going on." Are you a friend or not? Then I figure out who's who and what my game is. I figure things out pretty quickly. 🍑I'm neat in my kennel. 🍑Sweet peach personality. 🍑Beautiful appearance, shiny coat with colorful markings. 🍑I'm figuring out who I want to play with: Easy and chill, no problem, small and playful ok. 🍑I'm Young and highly training motivated and the best part is - I'm just grown past that high maintenance, needy puppy stage! 🍑I have medium energy -just right for outdoor adventures. 🍑I'm an active peach, but once exercise is done I love cuddles and affection. 🍑I wait patiently in my kennel for attention. 🍑I'm working on building my confidence so I can be my best self. 🍑Peach perfect shape-47 pint sized pounds! 🟢I like people. Friendly and fun. 🟡I may run to check out new things but I lack confidence when I get there. 🟡Cautious with cats. I'm Unsure if they can be trusted as friend or foe. Avoid them Is my plan.

Adoption fee includes basic vaccinations, worming, flea treatment, feline-leukemia/FIV test, heartworm test, spay/neuter (done prior to leaving), rabies vaccination and a microchip
There is a contract and all potential adopters meet with adoption counselor to talk about application and make sure pet is good fit with the person and family. A "meet and greet" is required with all family members and the pet prior to finalizing the adoption application. If someone is adopting a dog and has another dog at home, we also require a "meet and greet" for the dogs as well. All animals in the home must be up to date on vaccinations prior to new pet going home. We do not adopt to people who will keep the pet outside exclusively. We may do a home visit either pre or post-adoption. Animals adopted from us are not be sold or given to another person. We verify all information on the adoption application and may deny an application with any false information on it. A follow up call or visit is done on all adoptions within first 30 days of adoption.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppy (0-12 months): $200
Adult Dog (1-5 years): $175
Senior Dog (6+ years): $85
Senior to Senior Program: any person over 65 yrs of age wanting to adopt any pet over 7 yrs of age: adoption fee is waived

The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
