This animal is a Courtesy Post. We are working with the owner to rehome Leaf.
The owner would like for you to still submit an application with us to adopt Leaf.
The Furry Paws Foster Inn cannot guarantee the vetting that the owner has done for Leaf and it would be up to the new adopter to obtain these records from the current owner.
Below you will find the bio for Leaf by the owner:
Leaf is a sweet and intelligent little man. He loves talking and cuddling with his humans, chasing his bird toy, playing with other animals, and watching the great outdoors.
Leaf is indoors-only, though he adores screened windows and enclosed porches. He's tolerant of most things, including being held like a baby while you dance around and sing to him (he actually secretly loves it), nail trims, medications, etc. You can even pet his tummy.
Leaf is initially scared of new cats and dogs but warms up quickly so long as they respect his space. He would love to have an animal friend in his new home!
Leaf's conditions: - Mild asthma. He rarely has episodes and has only needed his rescue inhaler once in the past year. He handled it like a champ. - Stomatitis. Easily controlled with a daily low dose prednisolone tablet. - Anxiety. Easily controlled with a daily prozac tablet. - Predisposition to urinary issues. He's had one post-surgical urinary blockage and one UTI. Because of this he's now on prescription urinary care food, which he loves.
Now that he's in his own place and away from his sisters (who were bullying him and are the reason for his rehoming) he's been absolutely perfect with his litter box usage. No accidents whatsoever.
Because of past trauma, Leaf doesn't tolerate carriers and needs to be medicated with gabapentin before being transportated anywhere. We put his harness on him and allow him to lay in our laps when he needs to be taken to the vet. It's not ideal but it keeps him much more calm.
Leaf would do best in a home where he's not left alone for more than a few hours at a time, as he's an extremely sociable cat and has some separation anxiety. He'll need to be with someone who's prepared to provide lifelong care for his chronic issues. This will involve giving him his daily medications, taking him to the vet regularly, and being patient and understanding with him. Leaf is an incredibly loving and smart little guy who just needs some extra care and attention.

More about this rescue
The Furry Paws Foster Inn is a very small based rescue.
We mainly help stray kittens get off the streets and into loving homes. Sometimes friendly adult cats and dogs do come through the inn looking for homes themselves.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We work diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered that comes through the inn. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care
