My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG. Please do NOT submit an application through LALDR. Please contact Rayne at raynebeaudry@gmail.com or 250-608-3444 for more information or to adopt.

Hallo lovely people, I am the knightly Kaida and here's some information about me:

Age: 2.5 yrs old
Breed: Presa Canario, UKC registered
Weight: 100 lbs
Height: 22” /56 cm ground to shoulder
Gender: Male, fixed

I was adopted from Mandamas Kennels in Florida at 5 months old and my people describe me as an incredibly bright and athletic dog with a love for adventure! Hiking in remote areas is my favourite thing and I am always aware of where my people are, staying within a safe radius. Playing fetch, swimming, wrestling and running are a close second in terms of my best activities. Being a forever puppy with loads of energy, I do need some outlets for that, but once I've had a chance to flex my muscles a bit, I become a chill dude. You'll easily find me lounging by the fireplace, having a snuggle and spending some quality time with my family.

Treats are top-class and I am a super fast learner, especially when there's a treat to work for. I live with 2 other dogs in the family (a female husky and elderly dog) and I am great with them, however, just to be on the safe side, we still get fed separately and my owners keep an eye on me when I'm playing just to ensure I don't get carried away and play too rough. Having said that, I don't neccessarily get along with all dogs, it really depends on the situation, so we tend to avoid dog parks or high-density dog areas and I wear an e-collar for training purposes. Cats are curious creatures to me as I haven't been in the house with one, but my people haven't observed a strong prey drive with me.

My owners are looking to rehome me as they recently had a baby and as hard as they have tried, they are unable to meet my needs for physical activity. A home with loving people who understand and love my kind of breed would be perfect for me. I would love a place where I can just be myself, a funny, lovable guy. Older children who can use commands and teenagers would be a better environment for me, as they're above tail whipping height!

My adoption fee is $500.

More about this rescue

Loved At Last Dog Rescue operates in the Greater Vancouver area. We rescue and rehome local dogs as well as homeless dogs from numerous countries around the world, including Mexico, Korea, China, Iran, Kuwait, Bahrain and India. Many of these dogs have experienced hardship and cruelty yet they are gentle and loving. We have found that dogs who have experienced suffering appreciate every kindness shown them. All our dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped and those over 6 months are spayed or neutered.
