My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abigail is a sweet, shy girl who absolutely loves affection and to play. She was rescued from living on a heavy chain outdoors with no access to food, water or shelter. Abigail and 30 other dogs were removed from this property by law enforcement and their previous owner was charged with animal cruelty and dog fighting.
Abby will need a patient adopter who understands that she hasn't ever been inside of a home before and will need to learn basic living skills like potty training. She will most likely need to eat soft foods for the remainder of her life because she's missing half of her lower lip and part of her tongue and has a tough time keeping kibble in her mouth. Because of the emotional and physical trauma that she's endured we would prefer she be the only pet in the home.

More about this rescue

After dogs are seized by law enforcement in relation to animal cruelty they're required to stay in a holding facility until their previous owner has been sentenced. This can be months or years. After sentencing, the dogs are no longer considered evidence and have a very short amount of time to find placement before being killed. Our organization strives to find responsible placements for all dogs involved in cruelty court cases and eliminate euthanasia for adoptable animals.
