My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTERED IN NEW BRUNSWICK!

Meet Tiki One: A Special Companion
Tiki One is a unique and adorable 8-month-old male Chihuahua with striking black and white fur. Despite the challenges he's faced early in life, he is healthy and ready for a fresh start in a loving home.
Health and Safety
Tiki One is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, making him a safe companion for any household. He's also microchipped, ensuring added security should he ever become lost. Tiki One is heartworm negative and has received the ProHeart 12 injection, which provides protection from heartworms for a full year.
Personality and Needs
Having come from a difficult hoarding situation, Tiki One is understandably a little scared and skittish. He’ll thrive in a calm environment where he can feel safe and loved. His ideal home is one without children, as he needs a quiet space and lots of patience to help him adjust and grow comfortable.
Despite his initial timidity, Tiki One is very affectionate and semi-friendly once he gets to know you. With time and gentle encouragement, he’ll likely become a loving and loyal companion.
Training and Socialization
Tiki One hasn’t had much socialization due to his past, but he’s making progress every day. He's dog-friendly and enjoys the company of other canines, which can help him learn and build confidence. He’s highly treat-motivated, which makes training a rewarding experience for both him and his new family.
He’s already easy to train to use potty pads and is learning to enjoy the leash for outside potty breaks and walks. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, Tiki One will continue to improve his skills.
A Perfect Match
Tiki One is looking for a home where he can continue to flourish. If you have a quiet household and the patience to work with a dog who’s learning to trust, Tiki One could be the perfect addition to your family. His journey to becoming a well-adjusted, happy pet will be a rewarding one, filled with love and companionship.

More about this rescue

BMAR is a No-Kill facility: a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals, a home for the homeless, a haven for the mistreated, neglected, or abused animals of Sabine & surrounding counties. BMAR also runs a sanctuary for those deemed unadoptible due to medical and behavior issues.

100% Volunteer Rescue. We have no animal control, Humane Society, or SPCA operating in our area leaving animals in dire straights.

BMAR is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty & abuse to all animals & livestock.

We currently only adopt to states and Canada where we have a network in place to monitor animals and help with problems.

BMAR backs it's dogs for life and will take back no matter how long and at any time if circumstance arise and you cannot keep your pet.
