Meet our super sweet and gentle 5-year-old pug girl. She’s shy and still learning the world, but gaining confidence and trust in humans every day. She’s a bit weary of the busy NYC streets and not yet fully leash-trained, so for now she feels safest inside. House training is a work in progress—she has occasional accidents and hasn’t mastered potty pads—but she’s tidy and never destructive!
She is friendly with other dogs, and would likely do well in a home with another dog who can teach her the go around.
She relaxes best in her crate (dim lights + soft music = bliss), and once she feels safe there, she’ll happily accept gentle pets. She eats and drinks well, sleeps through the night, and her curiosity about toys shows a playful spark.
She needs a calm, patient home that celebrates small wins. If you love helping dogs blossom, she’ll be your little soulmate.
3 Keywords for your pup: Sweet, shy, curious!
Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 6
Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Occasional barker
Walking Manners: She needs patience learning how to walk on a leash.
Appetite: Great!
Favorite Things: Sleeping in a comfy crate
ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.
Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea.
