My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grace - Adoptable
Grace is a 5–6-year-old, brown and white classic beagle with a lot of energy and stamina! She is house trained and has great house manners. She should have another dog to play with and gets along great with other dogs, large and small, male and female. NO cats. Like most beagles, Grace needs a lot of exercise, at least 2 walks every day, and a big yard to run in. She’s a TOTAL explorer and does like to dig. When in the yard, her hunting instincts come out and sometimes she sings the song of her people when she sees or hears anything that is exciting in any way. Her foster mom will bring her inside if she gets too vocal and that fixes the problem. A minimum 5ft. wall around the back yard is required. If chain link, you must have a deep concrete footer or she will dig her way out. She is somewhat excitable when on leash, so she will benefit from an obedience class. Grace is a door darter. Her family will need to have a plan for (and preferably experience in) how to keep her safe around doors and gates. If riding in a vehicle, she should have a dog seat belt, as she will dart out when you open the door or window. Due to her door darting, we are accepting applications only in the Tucson area. She is a strong dog, so, a family with small children or with someone not totally stable on their feet would not be a good fit. Please fill out an application, if you might be interested in Grace. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1SnhudHYFJaPfZyCeKy36-9pbowOVOI-xrX4TIiSIxl4/edit

Additional adoption info

We generally require the following in an adoption:
• A signed, dated and completed adoption application.
• A home visit prior to the adoption.
• The adopter must be capable of caring for the dog emotionally and financially in the long-term.
• The adopter should have a fenced yard.
• If a renter, the adopter must be able to provide documentation from the landlord explicitly stating that pets are o.k.
• If the adopter lives in a shared-wall environment, SoAZBR needs assurance that a barking, noisy beagle is permissible.
• The dog must have accessed to a heated/cooled house during the day.
• The adopter must contact SoAZBR if they can no longer keep their dog.
• The adopter will keep SoAZBR as a secondary contact on the dog's microchip information so that we may assist in reuniting beagle with owner.
• The adopter assumes all financial and legal responsibility for the dog upon signing the adoption contract.

SoAZBR does not conduct on-site adoptions at pet events. SoAZBR does not conduct adoptions for dogs as gifts. We require that the entire family be involved in the adoption of the dog.

Fees range from $75 to $350 for each dog.
