TANA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Come meet Tana and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (10/25) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)!
Name: Tana Best Guess for Breed: Retriever/Shepherd mix
Best Guess for Age: 8 months as of October 2025 SEX: female
Estimated Weight: 26 pounds as of 8/31/25 and again on 10/5/25- her weight has remained stable
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Tana is Looking For: Tana is a sweet and spirited pup with a heart full of curiosity! She is ready for a home where she can get lots of playtime, belly rubs, and opportunities to explore the world around her. Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, a romp in the yard, or a cozy cuddle session on the couch, she’s ready for her forever home.
She’s still in her young dog phase, which means she’ll need continued training, socialization, and plenty of exercise. Tana would thrive in an active home where she can grow into the amazing companion she’s meant to be.
What My Foster Says About Me: Tana is such a sweet pup who is full of energy. She is getting more comfortable with getting attention and being held. She plays really well with other dogs, loves walks to the park, and is improving on her leash manners. She loves to run in the yard and play tag with her toys, which she destroys in no time. She loves to chew on bully sticks! She is doing great with house training. She sleeps well in her little bed at night close to our resident dog. Other fun facts, Tana is becoming bilingual in Greek and loves music by Tom Jones! She’s a smart girl. She is a happy girl, learning to trust, and is looking for her forever family to love and spoil her!
She loves the back yard and she chases our dog around with such abundant joy, it really warms your heart to see it! This afternoon at times, she looked like a little goat hopping around.She is enjoying playing with toys and the occasional old shoe. Tana just craves to be loved and feel safe, and will be a wonderful pup to a special family!
