Meet BiBi – a charming little senior ready for her forever home!
BiBi is a tiny Shih Tzu mix (possibly a ShihPoo), about 12 years old and just 7.5 pounds. She was found as a stray and rescued from the shelter with a large ulcerated mass, which has since been removed. She’s now recovering beautifully, is heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. She eats enthusiastically despite some dental issues and is on a good senior supplement.
Though she has limited hearing and vision, BiBi is very trainable—she’s extremely treat-motivated and 100% tolerant of handling, even by strangers. She may not hear or see well, but she’ll sniff out a snack instantly! She’s quiet, gentle, and would make a perfect shop dog or errand companion—happy to be held or rolled around in a cart, charming everyone she meets.
She lives peacefully with two small dogs and might do best with a mellow canine companion or two in her forever home. BiBi sleeps in an open crate overnight, and while she’s mostly house trained, she occasionally has accidents if she can’t get out in time.
She’s beginning to seek out companionship and affection but still enjoys having her own space. While her back legs can be unsteady, she’s stronger than when she arrived and moves around the house and yard comfortably at her own pace. She also enjoyed a recent beach visit—even when surprised by a boat wake!

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.

2. Click on the "Adoption Application" link on the left side of the page.
3. The application will open as a PDF and you should have the ability to fill it in from that page. Be sure to complete all fields.
4. Save the application to your computer, then attach in an email and send to petprojectnc@gmail.com
5. Someone will review your application as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours, and will be in touch with next steps.
