My story

Their adoption process

Adopters will complete an adoption app. If he/she has a pet, we will check their vet reference and a home visit is not needed (as long as the vet reference is current). All pets must be up to date current on Heartworm prevention and S/N. If a home visit is needed, we will complete that ASAP--as we don't want any delays in the adoption process. The adoption fees are listed here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-fees/. There is a 5-day grace period to make sure he/she is a good fit for your family. A full refund will be issued if the pet is returned within the 5-day trial period. Before you chose to adopt, check out this link for a few items to consider before making this big step: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/are-you-ready-to-adopt/

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
  2. Approve Application
  3. Meet the Pet

Go meet their pets

To meet our pets, contact us about any pet you are interested in adopting and we'll review the application and be in touch accordingly to set up a meeting time/date between the adopter and foster home if you are the best match for the pet.
