My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Betty, a four year-old 55 pound pittie/beagle mix.

Betty would love a home with another dog to play with. She has thought to have lived with children in the past because she adores them! She does not currently live with cats and we are not sure if she has in her past so it is uncertain whether she will do well around them.

A fenced yard would be preferable for her so she can enjoy running
around the yard in safety!

Betty has a funny little “rooing” sound for her bark. She bays similar to a beagle. She has a very expressive face and personality, and loves to cuddle and give kisses!

Her favorite activities are going outside to play and playing with stuff toys. She loves playing tug-of-war and fetch! She absolutely loves meeting new people. Betty is very well behaved and like a typical dog can be stubborn at times.

Betty has mastered some commands, such as sit, down, stay, come, no and leave it!

She is potty trained but her foster has not used a crate so we are not sure how she would do with one.

Betty is not fond of nail clippers. She is currently on some medications for skin allergies and seems to be tolerating that very well.

Betty is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Her adoption fee is $350.

Additional adoption info

Dogworks strives to place dogs into permanent homes based on the dogs' personalities and yours. To adopt a dog, we require a completed application, approved vetting, signed adoption contract, and home visit.

Adoption applications are available on our website (www.dogworksohio.com) and at all Meet & Greets. Once your application has been submitted, we will contact your references and consider suitability. You will be contacted by phone or email, typically within 4 business days, to discuss arrangements for adoption contract and home visit.

Adoption fees are variable (typically $125-$250) and are listed with the description of each dog. Adoption fee will be refunded if you decide that the dog is not compatible with your family within 2 weeks.

Adopted dogs must be returned to Dogworks in the event that they can no longer remain a member of your household for any reason.

All dogs have been updated on vaccines and tested for heartworm prior to adoption. Adult dogs and puppies older than 14 weeks are spayed/neutered. Adopters of younger puppies are required to sign an agreement to complete spay/neuter by 6 months of age. We will assist with spay/neuter costs. Adopters will receive a copy of medical records.

More about this rescue

Dogworks is an all-volunteer, nonprofit group based in Toledo, OH, whose purpose is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abandoned, neglected, and unwanted dogs. Our focus has been on sporting dogs, both purebreds and mixed breeds. Most dogs are rescued from euthanizing shelters, although some come to us from relinquishing owners or other means. All dogs are fostered in volunteer homes until adoption. We do not have a shelter or kennel facility.
