Riddick is about 7 yrs old and weighs about 40 lbs. Unfortunately, his owner dropped him off at a shelter and said they could not care for him any longer.
FROM HIS OWNER: Riddick has a zest for life that is truly heartwarming. He adores tug ropes and running freely outside, but he also cherishes those cozy cuddles indoors. With some cat-like tendencies, he would often perch on the back of the couch, gazing out the window for hours. Riddick is incredibly gentle with children and has a fondness for people. However, he's not a fan of cats. Car rides bring him immense joy, and he gets along splendidly with other dogs his size outside the home as he does not like to share his person with another dog.
Parting with him was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. We used to go for runs together, and I'd take him to the park with my other dog, where they'd revel in the open space. However, after my children were born, it became challenging to maintain that routine. Riddick, being the adventurous spirit he is, would jump the fence and roam the neighborhood, turning it into a game. I vividly remember chasing him down the road while eight months pregnant, thinking he was just being his carefree self.
Unfortunately, this adventurous spirit led to trouble when he jumped the fence and caused havoc in a neighbor's yard, resulting in the demise of a couple of chickens. Concerned about potential repercussions and the impact on our family, we made the heart-wrenching decision to give him up.
I've had Riddick since he was seven months old, rescuing him from a difficult situation. He is loyal, free-spirited, protective when needed, but mostly a loving companion.
He also loved being called Riddy, his special nickname.

This pet comes with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org . This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle Riddick into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours, Monday-Friday.
This pet is spayed/neutered, has current vaccinations and includes a microchip, deworming and 2 free vet visits, including a Healthy Start Certificate with the VCA Hospitals with a $250 health credit (restrictions apply). Adoption fee applies.

Applications are at the event once you have chosen a dog. If you rent, you will need to have your lease, showing the pet restrictions.

Once the interview is complete, you will fill out the adoption contracts. Once the contract is approved , the pet can go home.

You MUST have a collar that fits the dog & leash before you will be allowed to take a dog home with you. All puppies should have a brand new collar & leash for health reasons.
Each animal has an adoption fee. The fees pay the dog's vet bills. We require everyone to fill out a 4 page questionnaire/requirements to help us determine if this is the best fit for the dog and its potential human family.
If you rent, please bring your rental agreement stating that you are allowed to have a dog and what the requirements and restrictions are for your home, apartment or condo property.
If you have another dog in the home, you must bring for a meet/greet to ensure the best match.
We is solely by volunteers. We will return your call or email as quickly as possible.

We have grown to be one of Nevada's largest animal rescue groups providing a safe haven for dogs suffering from abuse, neglect or homelessness. In most of these cases, death would have resulted if the animal had entered a municipally funded shelter. We receive no local or federal funding, it relies solely on the generosity of its contributors and tax deductible donations received from the public. We always need volunteers and foster homes!
