Meet Tony 🌞

Since coming to Alabama, I traveled the same road every day—and every day I saw Tony. A little pup tied to a tree, left outside through rain, heat, and cold. Always there. One day, I stopped and spoke with the family to ask if they would surrender him to Big Dog Ranch Rescue so he could finally get the care he deserved. Thankfully, they agreed.

Tony came to Big Dog Ranch for medical care, where he was diagnosed with heartworms. After many conversations, the family allowed us to keep Tony through his full heartworm treatment. They visited a couple of times… and then stopped coming. Calls went unanswered. But Tony never stopped being the good boy he has always been.

Tony has now successfully completed his heartworm treatment and has been nothing short of amazing during his time at the ranch. He holds no bad feelings toward anyone—he loves all dogs, adores people, and walks well on a leash. Tony would make a wonderful companion for someone with a backyard where he can run, play, and soak up the sunshine.

One of Tony’s favorite things? Sunbathing on a beautiful day and riding around the ranch—whether in a car or cruising along on the side-by-side. He’s a truly happy boy who has learned how good life can be.

Now Tony is ready to find the family who will choose him forever—the one who will let him continue spreading joy, love, and tail wags for years to come.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from us please visit the ranch. Our website adoptions page has all of our availalbe dogs and our adoption application at www.bdrr.org/adopt. This will help us make sure we find you the right dog to fit your situation and family. You are welcomed to come to the ranch seven days a week or you can make an appointment with our adoption desk. Our adoption fees range depending on the dog's breed, age and other factors.
