Eugene is an adorable DSH orange and white tabby male born approximately 4/14/2025.
Meet Eugene!
Eugene is a smart, confident, and quietly charming kitten who truly enjoys being part of the household. He doesn’t hide — he’s always nearby, hanging out with people and observing what’s going on, usually from a comfortable distance. He likes company and feels secure around humans, even if he’s not one to demand attention.
This clever boy is highly food-motivated and already knows how to sit on command, which speaks to just how intelligent and trainable he is. He’ll happily take treats and food directly from your hand, and he allows handling and petting during calm moments — especially when he’s relaxing on the bed or lounging on his kitty condo.
Eugene truly shines with other cats and would love a home with a feline friend. He learns by watching and gains confidence through companionship. Recently, he’s taken a big step forward and has started sleeping on the bed with his foster family, showing how much trust he’s building.
Eugene isn’t a kitten who seeks constant human attention, but he is deeply connected in his own way. He’s the kind of cat who bonds gradually and meaningfully — and once he chooses you, it feels special. He would be a wonderful match for someone who appreciates an intelligent, independent kitten with a gentle, thoughtful nature.
Eugene is microchipped and currently in a loving foster home. His adoption fee is $105.

Adopters must be 21 years or older and willing to invest the time and money required to care for a pet. In addition to providing love and attention, regular medical care is required. Please ask if you would like more information about veterinary fees and costs.
Our animals come from a variety of situations. Some have been dumped at shelters or vets, and many are ill or malnourished when rescued. Although the animal has been in a protected environment, there is the possibility of unrecognized illness appearing after an adoption is finalized, especially because of the stress the animal may experience during the first few days at its new home. We advise adopters of the animal's known history and provide its veterinary records, but frequently we know only what the animal chooses to tell us. We cannot make any guarantee regarding the long-term health of any animal. Adoption fees are generally not refundable unless prior arrangements are made.
If you feel that you are ready to adopt, please e-mail adoptions@nbcrtx.org for prompt attention. A NBCR adoption counselor will contact you to arrange an interview.
