My name is Lucy!

Lucy has been available for adoption since August 18.

It’s now January, and she’s grown up in foster care.

It’s just timing. And timing hasn’t worked in her favor yet.

Lucy is a sweet, thoughtful girl who does best with people who let her take a beat, earn trust, and then settle in. She’s not loud. She’s not pushy. She doesn’t demand attention. Her confidence grows with routine and consistency.

Lucy truly thrives with another dog in the home. She loves other dogs, takes comfort from them, learns by watching them, and settles best when she’s part of a small pack. In foster care, she’s dog-friendly, social, playful, and happiest alongside another dog.

She’s still young. She’s still learning. And she’s done all of that without a home to call her own.

Lucy doesn’t need to be the center of chaos.

She just needs the right situation and someone willing to give her a chance.

This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)

Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.

Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.

Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.
