I have lived with many cats at in my previous home, so I would likely do well in a multi-cat home.

Demas tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.

My foster writes:
A shy start, a big heart. Demas spent his first days hiding, but now he happily trots out for pets and likes when you sit on the floor with him. He's bright and easy to teach (he even stays out of the kitchen), but quick to tire of the same toy. Swap in bird, duck, or rat videos, or a colorful shoelace, and he's entertained. He loves head scratch sessions throughout the day, but doesn't always know his limits, he may suddenly paw or nip when overstimulated. He's careful compared to some cats, but it can still hurt, so interaction should be calm and attentive to his signals. Demas is particular about food, only wet food or a specific wet/dry mix will do. Offer the wrong thing and he'll politely refuse until you get it right. Give him patience, the meals he likes, and quiet company, and you'll have a gentle, clever friend for life. Demas will thrive in a calm, patient home with someone experienced in reading cat behavior and has the time to give him attention and space to build trust at his own pace.
