Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Roxys story starts in April 2025, when she was found as an emaciated stray wandering around central El Paso. She was skin and bones, exhausted, and clearly had been on her own for far too long. She was brought to the shelter, and slowly Roxy began to heal.

For months, Roxy showed everyone exactly who she really is: a calm, gentle, good girl who makes friends easily with both dogs and humans. Shes sweet-natured, affectionate, curious, and just quietly fits into your life and makes everything better.

After so long in the shelter with no interest, Roxy has started to struggle. The stress of waiting and being overlooked took a toll, and she recently had to have her tail amputated due to happy tail, a condition caused by chronic stress in the shelter environment. Despite everything, Roxy remains nothing but loving and gentle.

Roxy is:
- A little cautious at first with new people, but warms up quickly and just wants to be loved
- So quiet you hardly know shes there (no barking, even a silent sleeper!)
- Fully house trained
- A total couch potato who lives for cuddles, plush blankets, belly rubs, and booty scratches
- Sweet, gentle, affectionate, and incredibly easy to have around
- Knows tricks and is a great listener
- Loves attention and human affection more than anything
- Walks very well on leash; may pull a bit at first but corrects easily
- Not reactive to other dogs and doesnt bark at them-just calmly curious
- Crate trained and well-mannered in the home
- Great in the car
- A FETCH MASTER (Level 10!) - rolls the ball right back every single time, often with her tongue out
- Athletic but not clumsy at all-graceful and coordinated
- Sleeps in bed with you like a total pro, and even waits to be invited up! She finds a spot and doesnt move a muscle all night

We believe Roxy once had a home and was deeply loved. Shes a good girl with so much love to give, and she still hasnt had the chance to truly be someones dog again. Shes just been overlooked.

Roxy doesnt ask for much, just a soft place to land, a couch with cozy blankets, belly rubs, and someone who will finally see her.

Additional adoption info
All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made in person. As a high-intake shelter, most of the pets that come to us are strays, meaning we have limited background history on the pet, such as health, behavioral or living history. All adoptions include the animal's spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license. All adoptions include a 7 day free trial with our training partner, GoodPup to help ease the transition!
