My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I am Callie. I am fifteen, and I am a retired jazz cat. The kind who has played a few too many late nights, slept through a few too many mornings, and learned that the best music happens in the quiet. These days you will find me in my favorite chair, soaking up sunlight and keeping time with the soft hum of the house. I like calm rooms, slow mornings, and steady company. Every now and then, when things get too still, I wander over to the cupboard doors and tap out a few notes. Bapity-bapity-bap. Just a little reminder that the rhythm is still in me.

I have had quite a career, you know. My early work was mostly improvisational: the jingling of toys, the clawing of a food bowl at dinnertime, the pitter-patter of late-night zoomies that could wake the whole house. Back then my tempo was wild, fast, and full of surprises. These days, I prefer something smoother. Mornings are for stretching, finding the warmest patch of light, and letting the day settle in its own time. I may not leap onto tables anymore, but I still have presence. Every step I take is deliberate. Every pause means something.

Without my claws, I sometimes lose my balance, but I have learned that grace is not about perfection. It is about getting back up, steadying yourself, and pretending you meant to do it that way. I may need a lift or steady every now and again. Like every musical icon, I have a well-set schedule at my age. I take my medicine in my food, no complaints, and keep my routine steady. Eat, nap, stretch, repeat. It is a quiet rhythm, but I keep the beat just fine.

Now I am looking for a peaceful home with some up and comer who appreciates classic sound. Someone who moves slow, listens close, and does not mind a little cupboard percussion now and then. The stage lights may have faded, but I still know how to make a room feel alive.

Love,
Callie

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

By adopting a Feline Rescue cat you will be supporting a caring, no-kill shelter and making room for one more homeless cat. We are always looking for good, safe, loving homes for our many cats and kittens. We want to be sure placements are a success for both parties, so before we send our feline friends home with anyone, we ask you to fill out a basic questionnaire. Since we work with cats everyday we will be able to suggest a perfect match to your needs. All of our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, receive all age-appropriate vaccinations, and high-quality veterinary care and exams. We charge an adoption fee to offset these costs. Adoption Hours: We are open seven days a week for adoptions, but our hours do vary. Please visit our website to see up to date open hours.
