Here's what the humans have to say about me:
“Hi, my name’s Journey! I’m 18 months old and about 65 lbs. They tell me I’m a Shepard mix and my foster mom says it comes through in some of my mannerisms, whatever those are!
A bit about me. I’m very smart and working to learn sit, stay, paw, wait, ok and more. I’m pretty good with sit and paw and working on the rest! I’m young and strong, so foster mom walks me on a gentle walk harness (chest ring type) and it helps - she says I’m a good walker, even if I try to hold the leash sometimes with my paws to say I’m done. She thinks I’m funny because I don’t like puddles and avoid them at all costs! I enjoy medium walks, but my favorite activity is snuggling! I’d be a great buddy for reading/movie time, as long as you don’t mind I like to get really close and sometimes put my paws on you to show you I love you.
Foster Mom notes: Journey is a smart, sensitive guy. Seems to bond fast and will be a bit of a shadow at first, with a little time he does also like to find his own place to rest. He’s been a good work from home buddy, snoozing or looking out windows. He’s had some minor “security detail” moments, barks/small growls a few times when he’s heard or seen something unexpected out the window, like when he first noticed people ice fishing on the pond near our house. He doesn’t seem bothered by road traffic and is working on short stints in his kennel during the day too. He does have some puppy energy and moments of seeming part “kangaroo”, but with gentle guidance is redirected. I understand he loves dogs, but shouldn’t be in a home with cats or small animals. He sleeps great in his kennel all night (with only a small grumble of protest when first in). He’s really a lovely dog and I’m enjoying hosting him until his forever family is found. “
Adoption fee is $475

More about this rescue
Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like-minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.
PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites. Please contact us if you would like to help foster, transport, fundraise or volunteer.
