Journey is a handsome 18 month old, 65 pound, Sheperd mix who was picked up as a stray in the South. He was in the shelter in Mississippi from March to mid-August as he underwent heart-worm treatment. Journey got a clean bill of health and is ready for a family here in Maine. Journey is said to be housebroken and loves all dogs.

More about this rescue

Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.

PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites.
