Leia is a sweet and charming 10-year-old cat with a calm and gentle personality. She brings a soothing presence to any home and enjoys quiet routines. During the day, Leia loves long naps in her favorite cozy spots. In the evening, she becomes softly curious, exploring the house, watching the world from the window, and checking in on her humans.
Leia truly enjoys chin scratches and gentle affection. She is not demanding, but when she chooses to come close, those moments feel special and meaningful. She enjoys short play sessions, just enough to have fun, and then happily returns to her peaceful downtime. She thrives in a respectful and calm environment where she can feel safe and loved.
Leia would be a wonderful match for a quiet household with someone looking for a loving and serene companion. In return, she offers comfort, companionship, and the deep, rewarding bond that only a senior cat can provide.

More about this shelter
Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (now known simply as the Montreal SPCA) was the first animal-welfare organization in Canada. It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds. The SPCA has come a long way since its beginnings: today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
