Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Indie
This gorgeous German Shepherd is Indie. We don’t know a lot about her history so we
can only share what we have learned since coming to our no-kill shelter.
Since arriving, Indie has been an absolute doll and has only ever been a kind, sweet,
and calm girl. We think Indie is about 1 year old. She has a beautiful thick black, glossy
coat. She is medium size, maybe about 55 lbs. She was uncertain when she first
arrived, a little shy, but as she spends more time with our caretakers, she is blossoming
into such a lovely young dog. She has shown herself to be very affectionate, which has
made her a little hard to walk because she always wants hugs and to check in to make
sure she is not alone. Lol! She loves people and will bond hard, but not at the expense
of others. She has a big heart and welcomes attention and love from everyone. Indie
also loves other dogs and particularly enjoys her yard time where she gets to see her
friends. Indie is smart and training her should be very easy. She does not need a heavy
hand, but rather kind and consistent guidance. She is a gentle soul and wants to please.
Indie is grace in motion and is athletic. She will need a bit of exercise, but she is not
overly energetic. She will love walks around the neighborhood and a fenced yard to let
her run safely. Another dog in the home would be fun for her and help her learn. She
picks things up easily. We just love this girl and the person/family who adopt her will be
very happy. She is a gem.
If interested in welcoming Indie to your heart and home, please submit an application
online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org.
Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter
at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All
adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with
current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit
out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family
member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption
policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website:
http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals.
Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care
remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished
rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at
capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
