Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Duke: the lovable hound who is looking for his forever home! He stands tall at 5 years old, and 69 lbs. Duke is currently in foster care receiving a well-earned vacation from shelter life. Some great things about Duke are that he seems good with children, and it appears that he is housetrained! While Duke is happy with his human friends, he is not a fan of fellow canines. He would do best as the only dog in the home.
Duke can be a little stressed going into new environments. (aren't we all sometimes?) He would need someone who is patient with him and understands that he needs some extra time to warm up to new places.
If you're interested in Duke, stop by our adoption center or give us a call to set up an appointment with his foster!

More about this shelter
Asheville Humane Society is about hope, not heartache. As Buncombe County’s critical safety net since 1984, we are always here to save and protect every animal. We have mastered the art of saving lives within our walls and now we are going even further, helping our community’s pets and their people thrive together. We are going beyond a no-kill community to ensure that each animal has the quality of life they deserve – a life worth living.
