My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨🐾 Buddy’s Miracle Journey —From heartbreak to hope — this is what rescue looks like. ✨🐾

When Paws_Without_Borders first met Buddy, his clock was running out.
He was on a CENSUS DEADLINE at (PACC ) Pima Animal Care Center — marked for euthanasia June 19th simply because the shelter was full. 💔

Buddy’s life almost ended that day.
But thanks to YOU — our incredible community of rescuers, fosters, and supporters — he got his second chance. 🙏💙

At the shelter, Buddy was a quiet, gentle soul who had already endured more than most dogs ever should. He was undersocialized, scared, and battling a severe case of Valley Fever. The world was a big, confusing place for him — but even then, you could see it in his eyes: he wanted to trust again.

Fast forward to today… 🌈
Just look at him now.

Those eyes that once looked uncertain now shine with joy. That body that once struggled with illness now runs, plays, and soaks up every ounce of love life has to offer. Buddy’s strength, heart, and resilience are nothing short of inspiring. 🐶💪💖

With specialized care from Valley Fever experts in Phoenix and Tucson — and endless love from his rescue family — Buddy is now medically stable, neutered, and feeling fantastic! He’s blossomed into a happy, goofy, affectionate boy ready for his forever home.

🐾💫 This transformation is rescue in action.
It’s what happens when compassion wins.
When a deadline turns into a lifeline.
When love gives life a second chance. 💫🐾

💛 Buddy is now ready for his next chapter — healthy, joyful, and so deserving of a family to call his own.

More about this shelter

Hello! Thanks for checking us out. We are a 501-c3 non profit rescue and rehab service in Tucson, AZ

We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs from the streets of Mexico in cooperation with other animal rescue organizations in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Our shelter in Hermosillo, Sonora, Vidas Con Causa, currently has over 150 dogs. There, we provide medical care and a loving place for them to heal before coming to the US, then we foster and work on finding the perfect fit for adoption. You can also visit the available dogs at the rescue in Mexico. Our rescue partners spend a lot of time getting to know the dogs and we know MOST of their
perks and quirks!

We help special needs dogs, the amputees, the pregnant Pitties, the MexiMutts, those from small independent shelters who don't get much notice, the cancer patients. We provide round-the-clock care until these dogs are ready for rehoming.
