My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet David: Sensitive, Stoic, and Secretly a Sweetheart

If your ideal companion is equal parts handsome homebody and playful pup, then David might be your paw-fect match. He’s got a face that could launch a thousand squeaky toys and a quiet charm that makes you feel like you were the one lucky enough to be chosen.

David is a thoughtful little guy who likes to take his time warming up. Once he’s comfortable around new people, he’s loyal to the core and secretly very silly. He groans dramatically in his sleep like an old man on a chaise lounge and channels his inner action hero during tug-of-war matches and play sessions with his doggy friends.

Speaking of friends—dogs are David’s happy place! He’s a total dog’s dog and would absolutely thrive in a home with a confident canine companion. He reads the room well, knows when to pause for a break, and has a real gift for adjusting his play style to match his partner. He’s the kind of pup who will follow his bestie’s lead, whether that means zooming through the yard or curling up on the couch.

David also does great in the car (especially if a nap is involved), loves a good toy chase, and is learning the ropes when it comes to exploring the world on leash. He would do best in a calm home in a quieter neighborhood, with patient humans who are willing to keep building his confidence and celebrate his quiet bravery.

So if you’ve got an extra spot on your couch, a love for dogs who love other dogs, and a soft spot for the shy ones who blossom with a little time and love, David just might be your perfect match. And in true David Rose fashion… once he’s in your circle, you’re in for life.

David is looking for a home with a fenced yard where he can play safely and he’d especially love a home with another resident dog to help guide himeand keep up with his energy!

David is estimated to have been born June 7th and weighs 27 lbs. He is a mixed breed dog and we expect her to be on the larger side when fully grown.

David’s adoption fee is $550. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Per our rescue policy, unless specifically noted in a dog's bio, we will not consider adoption applications from families with children under 5 years old.

We take care to make sure every pup finds their pawfect forever homes! Our policy is to match our puppies’ personalities to our prospective adopters’ lifestyle and preferences in a four-legged fur companion. We reserve the right to select a pup we feel will be best suited for you, which may not be the pup you originally applied for.

Forgotten Dogs Rescue requires all puppies under a year of age to be enrolled in puppy classes. Ask us about our recommendations and requirements for positive reinforcement training options!

More about this rescue

Forgotten Dogs Rescue is a volunteer and foster home based rescue organization focused on saving Pit Bull type dogs. Located in Washington State, we are a 501c3 non-profit and have been saving animals since 2011. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs who are in Washington's shelters, surrendered by their owners due to difficult circumstances or are in danger of abuse or neglect.

We save the dogs that need help the most, the dogs whose time has run out, the dogs who have lost all hope — the forgotten dogs.
