Sweet Scarlet is still hoping to find her forever home. She’s around a year old, weighs 36.5 lbs, and is pure love wrapped in a soft, wagging bundle. Though her adoption fee is normally $300, what matters most to us is that she finds the right person—so we’re open to letting you choose the fee that feels right for you. Scarlet has a gentle soul and a joyful spirit. She’s done wonderfully with other dogs here and absolutely lights up during outdoor playtime. She’s also incredibly tidy and easy to care for—just the kind of companion who will quietly fill your days with love and loyalty.
If you’re looking for a loyal friend who’ll meet you at the door with a happy tail and a loving heart, Scarlet is your girl.
On intake we: spay/neuter, microchip, update all vaccinations, a blood/fecal sample (if anything comes out positive we treat it), on a flea/tick and heartworm prevention and we give a free wellness exam 7-10 days from the day of adoption.
You must live within an hour of our facility and be at least 21 or older in order to adopt.

Our adoption fees for puppies start at $400, though could be higher based on adoption demand, and includes 4 veterinary visits to update vaccines and perform spay/neuter. Some dogs have higher adoption fees because of adoption interest
Our shelter mission focuses on medical and behavioral rehab cases, so our adoption fees never cover our costs.
We have an adoption application for dogs and cats and will check a vet reference as well as information regarding your home situation and pet compatibility.

Animal Hope opened its doors as a standalone shelter on February 1, 2015.
Prior to that, Animal Hope operated as a small rescue at Animal Hospital Southwest. As the municipal veterinarian for the city of Fort Worth, Animal Hospital Southwest frequently pulled difficult cases that the city was not equipped to treat and rehabilitate due to budgetary and time constraints.
From this organization was born the Animal Hope shelter, a rescue focusing on rehabilitation and “second chance” adoptions.
