Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Courtesy Post** Louie came to me a year ago as a stray. He had fleas and worms but was otherwise healthy. He is approximately a year and a half old. Louie is highly active, very smart and loving. He’s not met a dog or cat he doesn’t like and loves being around other people. He has shown no aggression. He is very healthy and has had all his vaccinations and is neutered. I love Louie dearly, but don’t think I can give him his best life. We walk/run daily. He runs like the wind next to the golf cart and we have several short walks in the afternoon. With all this, he still has energy to burn. I believe Louie needs to be in a home where he’s free to run without a leash and has friends to play with. He needs a job to occupy his mind. He loves his toys - especially the ones that challenge him like puzzles. He’s a big ball and knotted rope chaser. Louie is such a happy, loving and trusting soul and I want him to fly with that, not be stifled by my lifestyle. He definitely needs a home that has love, structure and an experienced owner. He is trained and obeys come, down, stay, drop it, give, crate, heel and settle on command. I let him run free in the mornings when we have our long walks with his training collar on. He returns to me immediately when I signal the audio. Louie needs a home with a securely fenced in yard and an energetic owner who has time to keep him busy. He is not a couch potato. He also needs an owner that is home at least part of the day. He’s too young to be left home alone. He cannot stay in a crate for very long. There is a small rehoming fee. If you are interested, please go to www.RussellRescue.com and fill out the online adoption application. Louie is not a Russell Rescue dog. Russell Rescue is only assisting with placement. All questions should be directed to his owner at nancyl49915@aol.com His new owner will need to drive to the Mission, Texas area or meet the owner somewhere to get him. The owner’s priority is that Louie finds a wonderful home and is willing to meet a reasonable distance.
