My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Rosie. I was found as a stray and then spent months at the shelter with my sibling. So, you can see why it might take me a while to trust new people and places. But once I do trust you, I'm a happy girl and I love to run around the yard with my foster brother and get pets. I weigh just 40 pounds and I'm about three years old.

I especially don't trust men so ideally, I need a home where there are no guys living there full time. If you want a dog that wants to be around you always, I'm your gal. I'll follow you around the house, sit next to you on the couch and sleep with you in the bed (if you'll let me). I don't really like the crate but you can trust me not to be naughty when you have to leave me alone.

I'm not big on adventures, not even walks in the neighborhood - I'm shy in new places and I don't like the car. I go a little crazy on a leash too and try and get away. What I like best is hanging out at the house with people I trust and with another young playful dog that TGRR calls a "mentor dog." I love playing with my foster brother and we run and play bitey face and bow and chase each other pretty much all day long!

It is very important for you to know that I'll take off if I'm given a chance. I find rabbits and squirrels irresistible, and I'll dig under the fence to chase them. My foster Mom has a GPS tracking device on my collar so she can find me. When I got loose one time, I kept running until I saw my foster mentor dog, then I followed him back home. 😍

I've not been around cats or kids so I'm not so sure about them. Given my interest in bunnies and squirrels, it's possible I'll think of kitties the same way. If your kids are active and noisy, I would probably be afraid of them.

If you are looking for a loyal, sweet, new bestie, and you have a young playful dog to teach me the ropes, I hope you'll give me a chance!
