Gabi von Garmish is a gorgeous 11-12 month old German Shepherd. This beautiful girl with a gentle soul is all about love and connection. She's a soft-hearted companion who will rest her head in your lap for comfort. Treats and affection go a long way in helping Gabi feel secure, and she takes treats very gently. She asked us to find her a home with another dog. (If there are kids, she's more comfortable around those who are 9 and up.) On walks she stays close to her handler and might need a little reassurance. She does very well other dogs at the rescue, greeting them nicely and joining in some play in playgroups. she enjoys being around dogs and people, but not cats. She has a best friend at the rescue, Berlin, and they are great together for anyone looking for a pair. We know Gabi will blossom in a home with another dog and people who give her the kindness and patience she deserves.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Gabi von Garmisch YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
