Meet Benji – The Goofy, Gentle Survivor 🐾
Benji is a lovable Lab mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Life hasn’t always been kind. He came to us after some neglect and severe malnourishment.
He’s a bit shy at first with new people, but once he warms up, you’ll discover his goofy side: silly zoomies, dramatic “flop and roll” cuddles, and a knack for making you laugh when you least expect it. He gets along great with other dogs, and is even respectful with cats.
While he’s a gentle soul, Benji does have a few quirks. He’s protective of his food and prefers to eat undisturbed, as well chill out in his kennel without any disturbances. So a patient, understanding home is key. Because of past trauma, he’s also sensitive around his neck area and prefers not to be grabbed by his collar; gentle handling is essential for his comfort and trust. He loves kids. A home with older kids (only) would be best. He also needs a fenced-in yard since he won’t potty while on a chain (a gentleman with standards!)
Some of his favorite things? Car rides with the windows open, playing with canine buddies, and basking in the love of his people.
Benji has been through a lot, but he’s ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family who will give him the safety, patience, and affection he deserves. If you’re looking for a goofy, loyal companion who will love you unconditionally, Benji is your perfect match.
