Take the Pet Home
Shepard and Betty have had quite the launch into life, and now they’re ready for their final destination: a loving home together.
Commander Shepard (orange tabby boy) was part of the “astronaut kittens” litter — rescued from the euthanasia list with severe eye infections. While his siblings recovered with partial vision, Shepard lost both of his eyes. But don’t let that fool you — he’s unstoppable. Shepard climbs like a pro, carefully easing back down rear-end first, and he still manages daring “spacewalks” to the top of the cat tree. He follows sound and touch to navigate, chase crinkle balls, and pounce on any tail that crosses his path. Once playtime winds down, he loves to curl up at his foster mom’s feet while she works.
Every astronaut needs a co-pilot, and for Shepard, that’s Betty (brown tabby girl). Betty is Shepard’s anchor and partner in every mission. Adventurous and playful, she’s also turned into a total lap cat — happiest perched on her foster mom’s shoulder while watching TV or curled in her lap during work hours. She loves people so much she’s been described as “dog-like,” following her humans around and soaking up attention. Betty has a small cloud on one eye that may fade with time, but it doesn’t slow her down a bit.
Together, these two are the perfect team — playful, affectionate, and inseparable. Around the house, they’ve also earned the nickname “Shrek and Fiona”: maybe overlooked at first glance, but full of sweetness and love once you know them. Shepard may steer by sound, Betty may have a small blind spot, but together they never lose their way.
If you’re looking for two loving companions who will fill your home with joy, purrs, and cuddles (without ever jumping onto the counters!), Shepard and Betty are ready to chart a course straight into your heart.
