Jaylen is the kind of dog who just wants to make you smile—whether it’s showing off his sit for a snack, wagging his tail when you walk in the room, or being your loyal buddy for whatever the day brings. He’s playful, he’s kind, and he’s got a heart as big as his personality.
Jaylen is heartworm positive, but don’t worry—the shelter will cover the cost of his treatment. All he needs now is a loving family to give him the fresh start he deserves. 💙

Shelby Humane is an open intake facility in Shelby County Alabama. SH takes in over 5000 animals a year. We provide an adoption program, low-cost spay/neuter program, and low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics throughout the County. In 2018, we launched Shelby SafePet, which provides veterinary care and boarding to pets of domestic violence victims.
