Sweet Sera arrived at Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward in May 2025 and recently welcomed 7 baby bunnies into the world.
Seraphina has been enjoying time in a wonderful foster home! Here are some notes from her foster mom!
I wanted to give an update and a few photos and videos of sweet Seraphina, affectionately known as “Fifi” in our household. She’s healed up very nicely from surgery, and is back to her regular self.
She’s currently 95% litter trained, and I feel would almost be 100 with a bigger litter box where she couldn’t sit outside the box to reach to eat the hay.
She gives sweet nose boops when you enter her room. She`s a curious bunny, often hoping in and out of her tunnels, box hides and litter boxes. She also boops you if you sit on the floor. (Although sometimes its a little much and it’s to get you to move out of her space. lol)
Our cat and her currently get along quite well in her room. They both basically leave each other alone. (Video proof)
She enjoys chomping cardboard, is not a picky eater, and loves bananas and Swiss chard the most.
Enjoys head pets, and tolerates being picked up.
Has no issue laying out right in front of you, definitely not a nervous bun at all. Very confident and on guard at all times.
I’ve had some kids come and visit her (8&10), and she’s responded very well, letting them hold her with no issues at all :)
Please message me or email kballenthin@humanesocietyhpe.ca if you are interested in fostering!

We require potential adopters to fill out an pre-adoption application. If that application is approved, the dog/cat must be spayed/neutered before it leaves our shelter (if not already done). If it is a puppy under 4 months old, we allow it to go home with the adopters under a foster care agreement until it is old enough to be returned for spay/neuter. Kittens are allowed to leave before spay/neuter is done, but they must be done within a certain time frame.
Fees: Dogs/puppies range from $150-300, depending on if they came in already spayed/neutered or if we paid to have that done.
Cats range from $80 - $140, though we often have deals on older cats or cats that have been there a long time.
Kittens are $60 with $25 refunded once it has been spayed/neutered.
All adoptions include at least the first vaccination, deworming, de-fleaing, microchip ID, and 6 weeks of pet insurance.
