My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Big Man is an ideal companion for a retiree or someone who works from home.

Urgent need to rehome senior schnauzer before he goes to shelter. Owner abruptly went into the nursing home. (Memphis TN area)

“Big Man” aka “Pup pup” is 12y MN and is current on vaccines, heartworm prevention, and passed health checks and recently had a dental. He has a few lumps and bumps, the start of cataracts, and seasonal allergies, but is healthy.

He still loves to play with his babies, go on short walks, and go for car rides. He is sweet and obedient. He is used to having someone at home with him – typical Velcro dog. He is house trained and sleeps in his kennel at night. He’d make a great companion for someone who works from home or a person/couple who is retired. He is not good with other dogs, cats, or small children.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All pets are up-to-date on routine vaccinations and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All dogs are tested heartworm negative and all cats are tested feline aids/feline leukemia negative. We require a pre-adoption application and a home visit. To help cover our veterinary costs, we ask for a $125 adoption donation for dogs and puppies and a $75 adoption donation for cats and kittens.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of unwanted, abandoned, and abused pets, giving them a second chance at a loving forever home. All animals taken in receive necessary medical care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are not a shelter with a facility where you can visit our pets. All rescued pets live in our own homes, where they are evaluated and cared for until they find their ideal adoptive family. We carefully screen prospective homes and require all applicants to go through an adoption application process.

We are not affiliated with the Desoto County Animal Shelter or any governmental agency. We do not receive any taxpayer funds. We operate solely on donations and the revenue we generate from fundraising events. 100% of our incoming funds go directly towards the care of our animals and to pay our vet bills. All other expenses are paid for by our own volunteers.
