Meet Sushi! 🍣
Sushi is a 1½-year-old male cat with a big personality and even bigger energy. This playful guy is super active and absolutely loves his toys—wand toys, balls, and anything he can chase are instant favorites. If you’re looking for a cat who will keep you entertained, Sushi is your match.
Once Sushi has time to settle in and feel comfortable, his affectionate side shines through. He enjoys cuddling and being close to his people, making him a great balance of playful and loving.
Sushi has previously lived with children and did well with them. While he doesn’t currently have experience living with other cats or dogs, he would likely do well with them given a slow, thoughtful introduction. Sushi would thrive in a home that can give him plenty of playtime, enrichment, and patience as he adjusts. In return, he’ll bring fun, affection, and lots of happy moments. Could Sushi be the perfect addition to your life?

You have two options:
#1- VISIT IN PERSON
Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter.
(Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.)
#2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD**
If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours.
**Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events.

All cat adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccine
-current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV/FIV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
