🐾 Rio

Rio’s journey started at Memphis Animal Services, surrendered with his six siblings by an owner who could no longer provide for them. For an older litter, that surrender was almost certainly a death sentence — but when we saw this beautiful group, we knew they deserved a chance.

Tall, lanky, and perhaps the most “mixed-up” breed of the bunch, Rio carries a unique look that makes him stand out. But it’s not just his appearance that charms people — it’s his even temper and his lighthearted way of making everyone around him smile. Rio is velcro in his own way, sticking close to his people while showing off his goofy streak to brighten any room.

💡 Best Fit: Rio is the kind of dog who can adapt to many homes thanks to his easygoing nature. He’d be happiest with a family that appreciates both his steady temperament and his silly side — the perfect balance of calm and comedy.

1.
Submit Application

• Current pets must be spayed/neutered, UTD on annual exams, heartworm tests, vaccines & consistent heartworm prevention.

2.
Interview

We will have a volunteer call personal and vet references. We will interview applicant if all information provided is accurate.

3.
Home Check

We do in home visit checks or via video chat. Video Chat If adopter lives out of our area, if a volunteer Is unavailable.

Or we help arrange private (or volunteer) transport for your pet if adopter isn’t in our local area.

Additional adoption info

We are all volunteers, but we try to have all applications processed in 7 business days.. If you are approved, then we will send you an adoption contract and transport information. Payment must be made once contract is finalized.
We try to answer all inquiries. If you are interested in a pet the best way to meet that pet is FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Since we are all volunteers, applicants must be approved before a meet/greet.

Team Memphis Rescue & Support provides assistance to Team Memphis Rescue & Support approved rescues by transporting pets from shelters, boarding facilities, Veterinary clinics and foster homes. We help evaluate temperaments of pets and network to find foster homes. Animal Rescue is an ongoing battle. We are stronger when we stand together.
