Here's what the humans have to say about me:
(TL;DR - Skittish/shy/anxious but very sweet and cuddly!)
Miro is a very shy and cautious kitty. Having grown up in a difficult situation, he's a little weary of humans but tends to warm up when allowed the time to do so. Miro is the last of his litter to begin warming up and therefore he's also going to need a quiet, understanding, and steady home to reinforce those positive human interactions.
When he's relaxed and more confident, Miro likes to talk and cuddle. He's a lap cat who enjoys giving little love nips and purring his heart out. He enjoys treats, back & neck scratches, and adores playing with his toys and other kitties. He's very curious and tends to approach people when he's ready to be given attention. Miro is excellent at using the litter box but isn't too fond of being picked up for an extended period of time.
Miro appears happiest living with other cats and does not seem to want to be an only cat.
The ideal home for Miro will have at least one other cat, be child-free and calm. A low-energy household with patient humans who are willing to give him time to adjust while reinforcing positive human interactions is the best-case scenario for ensuring Miro comes fully out of his shell.

More about this shelter
Welcome to CMHS! In continuous operation since 1943, the Central Missouri Humane Society promotes the well-being of companion animals – pets that enrich the lives of the people who love them.
The Columbia Humane Society was formed in 1943 to provide shelter and care for Columbia’s abandoned animals. Originating in a little structure on Creasy Springs Road, the organization has grown into today’s Central Missouri Humane Society, a regional animal welfare agency caring for thousands of animals annually and providing veterinary services for low-income pet owners.
