My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you want a dog who’s not only a great companion but also a conversation starter? Then look no further—little Zeph Zeph is sure to keep you smiling while you and your friends debate her unique breed mix.

Fully grown, Zephyra is the perfect size to be both a lap dog and a playful companion. She loves crinkle toys, will happily play on her own, and is just as content cuddling with you on the couch. With very little fear and tons of curiosity, she’s a clever girl who has even mastered jumping baby gates. One minute she’s zooming around the house, the next she’s sitting sweetly for treats (cheese and hard-boiled eggs are her absolute favorites!).

Zephyra enjoys playing with dogs her size or larger, but she’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only. She’s a wonderful balance of friendly and independent, though her spunky side means she’ll benefit from boundaries and someone who understands her playful mischief. She knows her name, responds to “No,” and will keep you on your toes in the best way.

Her foster recommends a home with older kids who can keep up with her energy. She’s not a match for cats unless her family has experience managing both.

Zephyra is sweet, silly, and full of personality—ready to bring laughter, love, and plenty of zoomies into her forever home.

Additional adoption info

We require an in-person application for all dogs and cats. A home visit will be required for larger dogs, who require a fenced in yard. Our animals are only adopted out after they have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Our adoption fees are $90 for cats and $110+ for dogs. Puppies are $130. Cash, check, credit or debit card are all accepted. Sometimes the fee will be higher for a dog, if it is a purebred. We would like to keep our adoptions local; in the event the adoption does not work out, the animal must come back to us. Adopters must sign an agreement to this effect. We do consider out of state adopters, please phone us before coming. We are a private rescue. Please be patient if we take a little time to respond.

Those adopting a cat must bring a carrier to transport the cat home safely.
