My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
Marley is bonded to her brother Alex and they make quite the dynamic duo. They enjoy play wrestling and relaxing together for very funny and entertaining viewing. Marley can be more nervous around new people and new surroundings, but the way to her heart is crunchy treats and playtime.
Marley is a bit more independent and gives you your space during the day to get work done. However, she remains a good supervisor kitty and likes to check in by doing the very important task of taking a nap behind you. Her favorite sleeping positions are to be fully stretched out on the bed, sleeping with one paw covering her face, or staring at you upside down with her very adorable little face. Ideally, Marley should be going to an adult only home that is quiet and patient.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

Marley is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. She is apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, she appreciates some attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people, we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.

I have lived with cats in my previous home.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I came in with multiple cats and am currently housed with my sibling, Alex 226461 who I am bonded with! (as seen in photo)

A volunteer writes: Visiting with Alex (226461) and Marley makes me feel like I've walked into a play. Except both of these adorable cats seem to patiently and adorably look to us for their entertainment. With one paw delicately perched on the ledge of his bed, Alex waited for me to introduce myself before presenting his neck for some scritches. Marley, meanwhile, prefers her perch to being downstairs when there are guests but she really, really loves pets. The circumstances need to be just right (i.e., calm and quiet) and when they are, she very sweetly leans in. They loved watching me try to play with them and every so often, Alex would stretch a paw up for the pipe cleaner feather. Alex and Marley came to us from a home with many other cats. Settling into any new environment comes with challenges and we're grateful that Alex and Marley have found so much comfort in each other.
