What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
My husband and I rescued Rye from his previous situation hoping to have him quickly placed elsewhere. While we love him to death, our 2 elderly dogs want nothing to do with him. To keep him safe, we have to keep him separate, and it’s not ideal for anyone (one dog or another is always crying and lonely).
Rye has come a long way in the time we’ve had him. Before we took him in, he was tied outside, scared of raised hands, and constantly looking for opportunities to run away. Now, he simply wants to play tug and take naps. He is still learning his own strength, but he is very eager to please and a quick learner. He still has remnants of ‘stranger danger’ when meeting people through fences and on walks, but he loves meeting new people inside the house. Once he knows you, he loves you.
What Rye really needs, is a patient home that understands pitties and will continue training him.
He has no adoption fee, but every applicant will be thoroughly vetted.
